What we're drinking

Pinot Noir: Goldeneye by Duckhorn

Anderson Valley, CA 2013

Bright cherry, blackberry, and wildflowers, with notes of earth and leather. Silky and structured with a long, lush finish.

Zinfandel Blend: Etrusca, Velia

Sonoma, CA 2011

Brick red color, with mulberries, crushed stone, and wild strawberries. Nice clay and black pepper notes with medium-long finish. Gamba's hedonistic tribute to ancient Italian culture, blended with Primitive and Petite Sirah.

Shiraz: Peter Lehmann , Portrait

Barossa Valley, AUS 2014

Deep purple color with top notes of dark fruits and hints of chocolate and vanilla. We recommend with The Carve and the Wisconsin Cheese Plate.

Chardonnay: Beringer, Private Reserve

Napa Valley, CA 2014

When someone says the oaky-ness is "integrated" – this is what they mean. Ripe, juicy, with layers of flavor wrapping around the toasty oak.

Sparkling: Argyle Brut

Willamette Valley, OR

Skilled at growing Pinot Noir and Chardonnay – 2/3 of Champagne grapes – Argyle stamps a vintage on its sparkling to show the particular excellence of 2010. Bright citrus is balanced by a striking structure, breadlike body and a creamy finish.

Albariño: Tangent, Paragon Vineyard

Edna Valley, CA 2014

Spain's most famous white varietal finds a home in California. Orange and tangerine throughout, with balanced and crisp acidity. Refreshing as a cocktail wine, or with fresh fish.

Minneapolis, MN

Simpson's Nitro, Scottish Ale, 5.4%, 6/pint

New Glarus

New Glarus, WI

Spotted Cow Grand Cru, Imperial Cream Ale, 8.5%, 7/small tulip
